Montemigiano Village
(Height: 424 a.s.l. - Distance: 6 Km from Umbertide; 13 Km from Lisciano Niccone). We have had historical mentions of both the ancient castle and the medieval village since 1210. In the ancient maps this place is usually referred to as "Montemixano" or "Monte Mezzano". This very important area was put under the rule of Città di Castello and Perugia. In the 50's Montemigiano underwent a slow phase of decay owing to the constant depopulation. Fortunately the village has been recently restored and today it is possible to admire its castle, its ancient church and its medieval houses. Borgo di Montemigiano is settled on the top of a hill, on the left bank of the torrent Niccone, along the way wich once led to Civitella - S. Anna and Comunaglia. The place can be easily reached from Niccone.
